Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been captivated by engineering, especially the idea of self-driving cars. It’s like my childhood dreams decided to stick around! This passion led me to Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, where I dove headfirst into a Master’s in Machine Learning & Robotics. Picture me in a cozy Scottish pub, excitedly discussing neural networks over a pint – that was pretty much my life for a while!

After graduation, I couldn’t wait to put my knowledge to the test. My career has been like a thrilling tech adventure:

1. AutoRD LTD: Imagine trying to teach a motorcycle to ride itself. That’s exactly what we did! We developed controllers for a self-driving motorbike at various speeds. It was as cool (and challenging) as it sounds.
2. L3HARRIS: Here, I got to play with boats – autonomous ones, that is. I spent most of my time in R&D, where I developed wave sensing technologies. Ever tried to predict the ocean’s mood? That’s kind of what I was doing. I also dipped my toes into safety-critical software development using C++ and PLC. It was like being a safety-conscious tech pirate!
3. TPGroup: This is where things got really interesting. We made a Humvee drive itself… without GPS! I was responsible for figuring out the vehicle’s position using only radar. It felt like being in a high-tech treasure hunt.

Now, I’m living my entrepreneurial dream with Gradient Insight. We’re a data science consultancy that’s all about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with machine learning and AI. But let me tell you, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing.

Starting Gradient Insight was a leap of faith. There were sleepless nights, moments of doubt, and plenty of challenges along the way. We’ve had our fair share of hiccups – from overambitious timelines to underestimating project complexities. But you know what? Each challenge has been a stepping stone, each mistake a lesson learned.
